The third in our recipe series with photographer and cookbook author Gintare Marcel pairs our white table linens with a great taco recipe for casual entertaining. This time we feature our super popular linen Edging Stitch placemats paired with our Surya design napkins.
For the Edging Stitch placemats we took a traditional embroidery stitch which the artisans traditionally use to add a finishing touch to our pieces and enlarged it to create an updated look. "Surya" is the Sanskrit (a language of ancient India) name for the sun and our napkins feature our interpretation of the sun embroidered in one corner.
The Edging Stitch placemats come in two color combinations so you can choose either to set the table in all one color or be creative and mix and match! In either case the Surya Napkin pairs well with both as do many of our other napkin designs. Keeping the same base linen colors for all of our pieces make them simple to combine and coordinate with each other. Layer various pieces to create a personalised look.
Take advantage of early Fall harvests, gather your friends and set out the fresh ingredients for everyone to create their own combinations. A fun, casual way to celebrate!
Traditional stainless steel silverware and classic drinking glasses round out the look. Depending on your mood and the season you may also want to layer with our hand crocheted banana fiber rope pieces. Here we feature our popular coastersand placemat as well as small planters filled with seasonal flowers for the centerpiece.
Together with Gintare, we wanted to create a fun and easy recipe, that would set the mood for great conversation and lots of laughter. This taco recipe not only livens up a table with lots of color, it is also a delicious uncomplicated meal!
